I have been away for the past week, but Hockeyy Insiderr didn’t take any time off and continued breaking tons of news. Time to give credit where credit is due, and if you’re reading this Hockeyy Insiderr I can most definitely tell you Dreger is really starting to go crazy when he thinks he found a scoop then scrolls through your timeline and sees you had it several days ago! Keep doing your thing man!
Let’s start with the Eberle deal (who re-signed a multi year extension with Oilers). On August 19 Hockeyy Insiderr had the news that Oilers had a 6 year $5.8M offer on the table for Eberle

And of course on August 30 mainstream media finally caught up to the news. The Oilers officially announced the signing of Jordan Eberle to a 6 year, $6M per year deal. Anyone surprised by this? Not Hockeyy Insiderr’s followers, I can tell you that!
Moving on. On August 22nd Hockeyy Insiderr broke the news before anyone else in the sports world that Bruins reached out to Brad Marchand for a contract extension.

He reinforced his info on September 1st.

And of course on September 7, the Bruins completed the 4 year $18M deal with Marchand. Another instance of insider info the mainstream media was in the dark about.
One last little thing. Hockeyy Insiderr often gets called out for tweeting info that was previously tweeted by somebody else. When this happens, people accuse him of fraud. This is a tweet by Hockeyy Insiderr on August 30.
https://twitter.com/HockeyyInsiderr/status/241195317901549568 at 11:26 AM. This was breaking news (1st to have it)
14 minutes later Chris Botta tweeted this http://twitter.com/ChrisBottaNHL/status/241198782178533376
I would like to congratulate Chris for his lack of integrity proved by his failure of citing Hockeyy Insiderr. Nice copy/paste skills, you fraud! But then again, what can you expect from someone who works for the NY Times?
This is it for now. Expect a blog next fairly soon though, because I see Hockeyy Insiderr has confirmed through breaking news Doan has agreed to re-sign with Coyotes, the Coyotes sale to Jamison will be announced shortly and Abdelkader has agreed to an extension with the Wings. Hopefully mainstream media catches up soon. I’ll tell Dreger to get on this!
